I’m Sheril R. Bryan, the owner and curator of EliteJamaican on Etsy. Born in Lionel Town, Clarendon, Jamaica, I migrated with my family to Toronto in 1973. After graduating from the University of Toronto Scarborough in 1993, I moved to Atlanta, GA to start graduate school at Georgia State University. I currently reside in Georgia with my husband, Paul.
Being raised in a very, very Jamaican household, patois was always the language of preference. Central to the feel-good vibe of patois are the Jamaican phrases and proverbs, passed down through the oral tradition from generation to generation.

I thought I could do my part to honor this awesome heritage by bringing some of my favorites to market in a fun, creative way. Every phrase and proverb have a story; I hope I got them all right! I hope you enjoy my items as much as I enjoyed creating each one.
