The best hair for Africans is imported from China

Well if you missed it, here is the video that started it all.  As you saw from my previous post I have been promoting my support a sista campaign for years but it was the correspondence with WowAfrican.com that really sparked a fire in me to try and make this thing bigger.

They have since apologized for their statement and revised their slogan…and to them I say: Apology accepted; and the movement continues….

This is a good idea and after February maybe even promote this quarterly to keep the momentum going! I will definitely support this.

I am a licensed massage therapist, owner of simply precious hands in Liverpool, Ny. I am always trying to get more black folks in my office I even offer discounts, but it still feel like regardless of how professional I try to be….I have more clients from other cultures than my own.

  3. I’m so glad you did this. I wish that it were not necessary, I see so many other cultures that just support each other everyday, all day without hesitation. Well, whatever the motivation–I hope it is successful and momentum continues.

I am a business within a business Esthetically Pleasing @ Georgie Salon & Spa. As an Esthetician/Cosmetologist I focus primarily on skin care, hair removal and makeup artistry. I stand by the belief that “Beautiful Skin Is For Everyone”. I wish I were more supported by my community and maybe this will let people know what I do and where to find me.

    Thank You Toni

You are so right about this. I’m tired of spending my hard earned dollars with a culture who has been making their living off our hair. I grew up in Baltimore and have witnessed them moving into our neighborhoods, selling wigs, etc since the 60’s and beyond. I started making my own wigs because they gave me a side eye when I asked about afro textured wigs. REALLY?! Ugh, it would be nice if we all could support one another.
