Can you tell us a little bit about yourself/background/how you got started with your business?
I’m a 24-year-old London-based graphic designer, illustrator and artist. From a young age I have always had a love and passion for art. I loved that I was able to express myself and there were no limitations or wrong or right answers.
The Pop Art movement has had a major impact in my work, as I love bold abstract colours, pop culture and people. My favourite artists and who have inspired me are Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.
I always kept my art to myself until one day my sister said I should share on my social media and sell it. I began selling all my illustrations as prints, cards and bookmarks. As the store has grown, so has the collection which now includes accessories and stationery. I created the store with the intention of making art affordable for all walks of life and to brighten up individual’s homes or studios or a perfect gift to for a loved one.
What led you to get into this industry?
I used to work in the retail industry as a sales associate throughout university. I combined my art and sales skills and was able to open doors for myself.
What is your favourite item available on your website?
My favourite item in my store is the Sade Print, I’m a huge fan, I listen to her every morning.
Do you have any words of advice for aspiring entrepreneurs?
Just do it. You may have fears or doubts in starting your business, but just take a leap of faith and go for it. No better how big or small your steps are or how much money you have to start it. Just start and put the work in, as this your dream, your passion and no one is more deserving than you.
