LOVE AND SHEA
My name is Naateki a.k.a Nelly, I’m a first generation Canadian born to Ghanaian Parents
I have been fascinated by hair and fashion since I was young. May have missed a few classes trying to get my hair just right …lol
After going natural for the second time in 2010 , I struggled to find a product that would keep my hair moisturized. As I began to read labels and research ingredients ,creating my own hair butter seemed to be the answer.
Shea Butter was easy for me to get my hands on. My Dad and Uncle would bring Shea from Ghana for me. Over the next five years my hair butter was perfected. Along the journey I also discovered that all the ingredients also had great benefits for your skin. In our cold Canadian climate that was a win win for me!
It was not my intention to create a product for the masses. In speaking with relaxed or natural friends and family they were having the same hair struggles as I had. I gave them samples to try they would come back for more. It was free and my assumption was they were trying to be supportive.
My husband Mike said “Babe I think you’ve got something here!”
April of this year Mike sold a jar to his coworker… She loved it. For a stranger to rave about the product that really opened my eyes.
Love & Shea really blossomed from there with help of Mike my Husband / Business Partner
My favourite product is the Moisturizing Buttercreme. It’s the first item I created. I love its versatility for hair and skin and all the yummy scent options.
