Black Hair Vendors

Many of you know I am a Natural Hair vlogger and enthusiast! I love my natural hair but just like accessories I like to switch it up from time to time with braids, weaves or wigs.

As a matter of fact this blog sort of stemmed from that.  I’m not opening up the debate on whether or not a Black woman should wear weave or not.  I have no desire to challenge the way someone chooses to present themselves to the world.  I simply want us to make a conscious choice to spend our money within our own community first.

With that being said, here are some Black owned hair vendors/suppliers.  If your in the market for some hair extensions, check these ladies out and Support A Sista!

  1. Allison says:

Also, I would add They sell units, wefted hair, and accessories. All of their hair is designed to blend with type 3 and 4 textures.

    • Starla says:

BUYER BEWARE!!!!! SamyahMilanBoutique is a Scam they took my money and never gave me any product or explanation on what happened. It has been 15 days since I gave them $300 and I have yet to receive a refund….Scam Scam

  2. Amisse says:

I really want to support this but my question is: does it really make a difference because most of these hair vendors get their virgin hair from Chinese wholesalers anyway no? maybe Im wrong?

    • Toni Daley says:

Hi Amisse! Thanks for your question 🙂 Yes, it definitely matters!
Regardless of where the hair is coming from these businesses are black owned. For us to start our own manufacturing companies so that we do not have to go to the Chinese wholesalers, well that takes money….money that we have to power to generate on our own if we simply make the choice to buy black first.

      • Tinks says:

That honestly makes no sense. Just because there our “black sisters” we should buy extortionate priced hair from them ? Instead of the Chinese vendors they buy it from any way. !!!!!

        • Toni Daley says:

Retail 101. There’s no secret in how business works. You purchase product in bulk and resell it for profit. The more you can buy in bulk the lower your prices. If we do not support our black sisters they cannot afford to buy the larger quantities that the Asians can thereby passing down the savings to us. This is way bigger than you…open your mind and look at the bigger picture.

          • Michelle says:

I absolutely agree. It seems our community always complains about high prices which if you educated yourself in business you would be able to understand however these same buyers find no problem spending rent money on European goods smh just my opinion

        • Mony says:

If you don’t see a point then why is it just too much to help support someone you see trying to do better for theirselves? Asians already have it easy because they stick together and they understand the whole community aspect. It is extremely difficult for these Black owned beauty shops to even get hair to sell because the Koreans practically have the hair platform on lock. So, in order to change that we have to start somewhere. And that could be the matter of you taking that extra 5 minutes and drive to the black owned shop and not the Asian one right around the corner from you. Ya know? Just help a sistah out. Every other race does. Believe that.
