I’m a 4th grade teacher living in Staten island,New York with my husband and puppy. I’m originally from Liberia, West Africa. I went natural almost 2 years ago after one of my African American student was being bullied and ridiculed because of her “nappy hair”. I assured her that she and her hair was beautiful, but she then asked me. “Ms. Nnenna,if you think my hair is so beautiful then why do you wear your hair straight?” This humbled me and like a true teacher, I started doing research on natural hair. Long story short I cut my hair in solidarity with all my beautiful natural black students and began leading by example. I’ve never looked back.

My favorite Product is: the Ezpuff. It’s my most unique and signature creation. It’s quick, easy, and simply gorgeous!
I’m also in love with the Afro kinky bun. Since my hair is pretty short I struggled to cover up buns that had straight silky hair. So created a bun that had afro textured hair to make my cover up (or lack thereof 🙂 ) more seamless, so I came up with the afro kinky bun. It makes the process so much easier and you don’t have to worry when your hair separates from the bun.
Advice for aspiring entrepreneurs: find something you love to do, find something you are good at, recognize it’s a gift. Then invest your time into it and follow your dreams.
